ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,421,897, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to RTX Corp. (Farmington, Conn.).

"Aircraft heat exchanger" was invented by Jon Erik Sobanski (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Joseph B. Staubach (Colchester, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A heat exchanger for heat transfer between an external first flow along a first flowpath and a second flow along an internal second flowpath, has: a first manifold; a second manifold; and a plurality of tubes extending from the first manifold to the second manifold and having respective interiors bounding respective legs of the second flowpath.
