ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,555, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to RTX Corp. (Farmington, Conn.).

"Substrate edge configurations for ceramic coatings" was invented by Christopher W. Strock (Bootbay Harbor, Maine).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An article has a body having: a first face; and a first bevel surface extending from the first face. A plurality of first channels along the first bevel surface extending from the first face. A ceramic coating is along the inner diameter surface and the first bevel surface."
