ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,366,220, issued on July 22, was assigned to RTX Corp. (Farmington, Conn.).

"De-preserving a fuel system of a turbine engine" was invented by Joshua Seyler (Stuart, Fla.), Lajos H. Horvath (Jupiter, Fla.), Sami Chukrallah (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Richard D. Konney (Palm City, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method is provided for treating a fuel system of a turbine engine. During this method, a treatment system is connected to the turbine engine. Preservation fluid is drawn out of the fuel system using the treatment system."

The patent was filed on Jan. 29, 2024, under Application No. 18/425,680.
