ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,290,082, issued on May 6, was assigned to Roquette Freres (Lestrem, France).
"Porous starch as bulking agent in chewing-gums" was invented by Jovin Hasjim (Shanghai), Zhiqin Xu (Shanghai) and Bernard Pora (Shanghai).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to the use of porous starch as bulking agent in a chewing gum. The present invention also relates to a process of fabricating the chewing gum and to a chewing gum composition comprising porous starch as bulking agent."
The patent was filed on Feb. 12, 2021, under Application No. 17/904,062.
