ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,398,070, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to ROCKWOOL A/S (Hedehusene, Denmark).

"Mineral wool binder" was invented by Thomas Hjelmgaard (Fredensborg, Denmark).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention is directed to a formaldehyde-free binder composition for mineral fibres comprising at least one phenol containing compound, at least one protein and at least one divalent metal cation M2+ containing compound."

The patent was filed on Aug. 14, 2020, under Application No. 17/635,451.
