ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,349,313, issued on July 1, was assigned to Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, N.Y.).
"Cooling device having a boiling chamber with submerged condensation and method" was invented by Satish G. Kandlikar (Rochester, N.Y.) and Maharshi Shukla (West Henrietta, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device and method including a boiling chamber in which boiling occurs in a pool of liquid and condensation occurs in the same chamber to remove the heat from the condensation process of the bubbles generated during the boiling process mainly through submerged condensation are disclosed."
