ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,253,517, issued on March 18, was assigned to ROCHE DIABETES CARE INC. (Indianapolis).

"Nano-enzyme containers for test elements" was invented by Grit Baier (Illertissen, Germany), Carina Horn (Biblis, Germany), Katharina Landfester (Mainz, Germany), Anna Musyanovych (Mainz, Germany) and Umaporn Paiphansiri (Ludwigshafen, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a test element for the detection of an analyte comprising an enzyme, wherein the enzyme is incorporated in a nanocapsule."

The patent was filed on Aug. 20, 2021, under Application No. 17/407,283.
