ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,318,015, issued on June 3, was assigned to Robert W. Smith Jr. (Lakewood, N.Y.).
"Lightweight collapsible stool" was invented by Robert W. Smith Jr. (Lakewood, N.Y.), Merry Riehm-Constantino (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Alexander T. Reding (Lockport, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lightweight, collapsible, and portable wheeled seat, e.g., a wheeled office chair or stool, for travel, storage, and mobility, is disclosed."
The patent was filed on Nov. 17, 2023, under Application No. 18/512,413.
