ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,424,646, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Robert Bosch Gmbh (Stuttgart, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A cathode catalyst layer includes a support substrate having a pore-free surface region and a porous surface region having a plurality of pores, a first electrolyte in direct contact with the pore-free surface region, and a second electrolyte contained within the plurality of pores, the second electrolyte being different from the first electrolyte."
