ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,150, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Rivian IP Holdings LLC (Plymouth, Mich.).
"Folding vehicle rack system" was invented by Christian V. Elder (Irvine, Calif.) and Cameron James Robert Mcroberts (Surrey, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Particular embodiments may provide an apparatus that includes a bar and a hinge connected to the bar, wherein the hinge is configured to rotate the bar and reconfigure the apparatus between an extended configuration and a folded configuration."
