ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,066, issued on April 29, was assigned to Rivian IP Holdings LLC (Irvine, Calif.).
"High voltage distribution box" was invented by Jonathan Verghese (Costa Mesa, Calif.), Sunoj Cherian George (Irvine, Calif.), Kyle Thomas O'Neil (Los Angeles) and Daniel Kurt Mehr (Irvine, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pack-agnostic high voltage distribution apparatus can include an electrical component. The electrical component can be configured to control a first battery pack and a second battery pack different than the first battery pack."
The patent was filed on March 8, 2024, under Application No. 18/599,631.
