US Patent Issued to Rivian IP Holdings on April 22 for "Portable speaker with light reflector" (California, Michigan Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,284,471, issued on April 22, was assigned to Rivian IP Holdings LLC (Irvine, Calif.).

"Portable speaker with light reflector" was invented by Matthew Braun (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Jonathan Salerno (Newport, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A portable speaker is disclosed. The portable speaker includes a speaker, a light source, and a reflector. The speaker is adapted to produce sound. The light source is adapted to emit light. The reflector is adapted to redirect at least a portion of the light to illuminate one or more ground surfaces."

The patent was filed on Sept. 3, 2021, under Application No. 17/639,696.
