ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,923, issued on April 15, was assigned to Rhinegeist LLC (Cincinnati).
"Systems and methods for controlling attenuation in a fermentation process" was invented by Nicholas Ketchum (Cincinnati).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of controlling attenuation in a fermentation process includes culturing a fungus in a medium to produce a fermented liquid and adding a killer toxin to the fermented liquid. The killer toxin is added in an amount effective to deactivate the fungus."
The patent was filed on March 12, 2021, under Application No. 17/199,911.
