ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,241,652, issued on March 4, was assigned to Research Products Corp. (Madison, Wis.).
"Negative pressure condensate drain system" was invented by Han-Chuan Tsao (Madison, Wis.) and Matthew Gehl (Madison, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A drain pan system for receiving, routing, and draining condensate from a dehumidifying, heating, ventilating, or air conditioning system is disclosed. The system includes a drain pan body that contains one or more walls to mitigate air flow and enable smooth condensate flow into, through, and out of the drain pan system."
