ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,548,818, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Relyion Energy Inc. (Fremont, Calif.).

"Battery assemblies" was invented by Aaron Daniel Juan (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Surinder Singh (Fremont, Calif.) and Ratnesh K. Sharma (Fremont, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A battery assembly can include a backplane comprising a plurality of socket blocks configured to electrically couple respectively to a plurality of battery components. The socket blocks may provide a flexible connection between the battery components and the backplane that allows individual battery components to be replaced without removing entire modules from service.
