ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,369,570, issued on July 29, was assigned to Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Tarrytown, N.Y.).

"Humanized IL-15 animals" was invented by Jose F. Rojas (Newburgh, N.Y.), Ka-Man Venus Lai (San Francisco), Andrew J. Murphy (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.) and Cagan Gurer (Chappaqua, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Genetically modified non-human animals comprising a humanized interleukin-15 (IL-15) gene. Cells, embryos, and non-human animals comprising a human IL-15 gene. Rodents that express humanized or human IL-15 protein."

The patent was filed on Oct. 17, 2022, under Application No. 18/047,014.
