US Patent Issued to Realtek Semiconductor on April 15 for "ESD protection circuit, driving circuit, pre-driving circuit and IC layout thereof" (Taiwanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,278,487, issued on April 15, was assigned to Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (HsinChu, Taiwan).

"ESD protection circuit, driving circuit, pre-driving circuit and IC layout thereof" was invented by Han-Hsin Wu (HsinChu, Taiwan), Tay-Her Tsaur (HsinChu, Taiwan) and Yen-Wei Liu (HsinChu, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An IC layout of a pre-driving circuit, comprising: a plurality of type one transistor regions, having a density smaller than a predetermined level; and a type two bulk region, surrounding the type one transistor regions."

The patent was filed on July 25, 2022, under Application No. 17/873,101.
