ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,322,884, issued on June 3, was assigned to Raytheon Co. (Arlington, Va.).
"Nested wire monopole HF antenna" was invented by Wayne Kim Jr. (Virginia Beach, Va.), Yueh-Chi Chang (Salem, N.H.), Shane D. Blair (Salem, N.H.) and Henry J. Nizko (Melbourne, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and apparatus for an antenna having first and second nested monopoles each having arms with bends. In some embodiments, the monopoles are offset in clocking angle. In some embodiments, the monopoles are aligned in clocking angle. In embodiments, the bends in the arms may be located at half a total height of the antenna."
