ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,372,615, issued on July 29, was assigned to Raytheon Co. (Arlington, Va.).
"Multi-target near-field test system" was invented by Ryan T. Cutshall (Tucson, Ariz.) and Eric Jeffrey Nill (Tucson, Ariz.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A test system comprising an array of radiating antenna elements, each antenna element in the array operatively connected to a beam former; and at least one signal generator operatively connected to the beam former; wherein the test system is configured to generate simultaneous plane waves in the near-field region."
The patent was filed on Sept. 8, 2022, under Application No. 17/940,150.
