ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,332,252, issued on June 17, was assigned to Randox Laboratories Ltd. (Crumlin, Great Britain) and Randox Teoranta (Donegal, Ireland).

"GFAP accumulating in stroke" was invented by Stephen Peter Fitzgerald (Crumlin Antrim, Great Britain), Ivan McConnell (Crumlin Antrim, Great Britain), Ciaran Richardson (Donegal, Ireland), John Lamont (Crumlin Antrim, Great Britain) and Konstantinos Makris (Athens, Greece).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure describes the use of glial fibrillary acidic protein as a marker of pernicious stroke."
