ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,327,590, issued on June 10, was assigned to Rambus Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"Hybrid volatile and non-volatile memory device" was invented by Scott C. Best (Palo Alto, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of controlling a memory device is disclosed. The method includes receiving an address value that indicates a range of addresses within the memory device, each address within the range of addresses corresponding to storage locations within each of two distinct storage dice within the memory device. The address value is stored within a programmable register within the memory device."
