ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,510,679, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Radiation Monitoring Devices Inc. (Watertown, Mass.).

"High thermal conductivity scintillators for imaging" was invented by Oleg Maksimov (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Harish B. Bhandari (Brookline, Mass.) and Vivek V. Nagarkar (Weston, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Scintillators that are not thermally damaged by heat generated by a predetermined radiation pulse impinging on the scintillator."

The patent was filed on June 28, 2023, under Application No. 18/215,307.
