ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,318,261, issued on June 3, was assigned to Quip NYC Inc. (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

"Dental flossing pick" was invented by William Thomas May (South Orange, N.J.), Simon Enever (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Paul Koh (New York), Maxwell Wood-Lee (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Jonathan Fratti (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dental flossing pick includes a body, a lever, and at least one torsion spring. The body may include a first arm and a first jaw, and the lever may include a second arm and a second jaw.
