ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,363,134, issued on July 15, was assigned to Quick Vault Inc. (Cumming, Ga.).

"Method and system for forensic data tracking" was invented by Steven V. Bacastow (Cumming, Ga.) and Michael Royd Heuss (Alachua, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a method and system for tracking the movement of data elements as they are shared and moved between authorized and unauthorized devices and among authorized and unauthorized users."

The patent was filed on Jan. 22, 2024, under Application No. 18/419,534.
