ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,469,876, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to QuantumScape Battery Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"High green density ceramics for battery" was invented by Kim Van Berkel (San Jose, Calif.) and Patrick Jeffries (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Set forth herein are processes and materials for making ceramic thin green tapes by casting ceramic source powders and precursor reactants, binders, and functional additives into unsintered thin green tapes in a non-reactive environment."

The patent was filed on Jan. 15, 2021, under Application No. 17/792,107.
