ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,416,974, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to QUALCOMM Inc. (San Diego).
"Audio-video-haptics recording and playback" was invented by Durga Prasad Reddy Gajjala (Hyderabad, India), Maulik Khimjibhai Patel (Hyderabad, India) and Nitin Srivastava (Hyderabad, India).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Innovative techniques to generate a haptic stream are proposed. The proposed techniques allow haptic stream to be captured and along with audio/video stream. In so doing, a full experience-audio, video, haptics experience-may be experienced during playback."
The patent was filed on Jan. 6, 2022, under Application No. 17/570,185.
