ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,345,793, issued on July 1, was assigned to QUALCOMM Inc. (San Diego).

"Using doppler for multipath detection and mitigation in RF-based positioning" was invented by Yuxiang Peng (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Ning Luo (Cupertino, Calif.), Bo Zheng (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Jingchao Bao (San Diego), Min Wang (Tustin, Calif.), Gengsheng Zhang (Cupertino, Calif.) and Yinghua Yang (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Aspects presented herein may improve the performance and accuracy of RF-based positioning. Aspects presented herein may enable a device to use RF Doppler measurements to detect and mitigate multipath effects in RF-based positioning....
