ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,312, issued on June 17, was assigned to Purdue Research Foundation (West Lafayette, Ind.).
"Deterministic culturing of single cells" was invented by Cagri A. Savran (West Lafayette, Ind.), Rohil Jain (West Lafayette, Ind.) and Chun-Li Chang (West Lafayette, Ind.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The application relates to methods and systems for culturing individually selected cells in relative isolation from the rest of a population of cells, under physiologically relevant and controllable environmental conditions that can be designed to mimic specific environments, e.g., within a human body."
