ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,365,691, issued on July 22, was assigned to Purdue Research Foundation (West Lafayette, Ind.).
"Method of synthesizing (3S,3AR,5R,7AS,8S)-hexahydro-4H-3,5-methanofuro[2,3-bpyran-8-ol" was invented by Arun K. Ghosh (West Lafayette, Ind.) and Shivaji Markad (West Lafayette, Ind.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosure relates to a method of synthesizing the high-affinity, non-petidyl ligand (3S,3aR,5R,7aS,8S)-hexahydro-4H-3,5-methanofuro[2,3-b]pyran-8-ol, which is useful in the synthesis of various compounds, such as HIV-1 protease inhibitors."
