ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,152, issued on April 22, was assigned to PURDUE PHARMA LP (Stamford, Conn.) and PURDUE PHARMACEUTICALS LP (Wilson, N.C.).

"Tamper resistant dosage forms" was invented by William H. McKenna (Yonkers, N.Y.), Richard O. Mannion (Furlong, Pa.), Edward P. O'Donnell (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Haiyong H. Huang (Princeton, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to pharmaceutical dosage forms, for example to a tamper resistant dosage form including an opioid analgesic, and processes of manufacture, uses, and methods of treatment thereof."

The patent was filed on Nov. 20, 2024, under Application No. 18/953,603.
