ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,302,953, issued on May 20, was assigned to PUMA SE (Herzogenaurach, Germany).

"Collar for a garment" was invented by Howard Williams (Hong Kong).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A collar includes a leaf having a first edge and a second edge, a stand having a concavely curved inner edge, and a fold line adjoining the leaf to the stand. The fold line may be convexly curved between the first edge and the second edge, and the stand is formed as a mesh portion."

The patent was filed on July 2, 2021, under Application No. 17/366,943.
