ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,436,350, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Prysmian S.p.A. (Milan).
"Pre-terminated optical cable" was invented by John Shuman (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and Ian James Griffiths (Milan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An optical cable includes a main body and a termination segment extending from an end of the main body. The main body includes middle portions of optical fibers. The termination segment includes end portions of the optical fibers and multi-fiber connectors attached to the end portions of the optical fibers. The multi-fiber connectors are staggered along a length of the termination segment."
