ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,528,858, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to PROTHENA BIOSCIENCES Ltd. (Dublin).

"Humanized antibodies that recognize alpha-synuclein" was invented by Jose William Saldanha (Enfield, Great Britain) and Tarlochan S. Nijjar (Orinda, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present application discloses humanized 9E4 antibodies. The antibodies bind to human alpha synuclein and can be used for immunotherapy of Lewy body disease."

The patent was filed on April 26, 2022, under Application No. 17/730,074.
