US Patent Issued to PROPREV on July 29 for "Prevotella copri compositions" (Swedish Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,226, issued on July 29, was assigned to PROPREV AB (Helsingborg, Sweden).

"Prevotella copri compositions" was invented by Inger Bjorck (Billinge, Sweden), Anne Nilsson (Rydeback, Sweden), Fredrik Backhed (Kullavik, Sweden) and Petia Kovatcheva-Datchary (Gothenburg, Sweden).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A product such as a food product, food ingredient, food supplement or medicament containing isolated Prevotella copri (P. copri). The food product, food ingredient and food supplement are suitable for ingestion and the medicament is suitable for use as a suppository or enema or enclosed in a capsule."
