ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,478,680, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to ProLynx LLC (San Francisco).
"Hydrogels with biodegradable crosslinking" was invented by Gary W. Ashley (Alameda, Calif.), Daniel V. Santi (San Francisco) and Jeffrey C. Henise (San Francisco).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Hydrogels that degrade under appropriate conditions of pH and temperature by virtue of crosslinking compounds that cleave through an elimination reaction are described. The hydrogels may be used for delivery of various agents, such as pharmaceuticals."
The patent was filed on Sept. 7, 2022, under Application No. 17/930,381.
