ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,712, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Prodinteg LLC (Caledonia, Miss.).

"Retractable cover assembly" was invented by Tony Carley (Caledonia, Miss.) and Lesly Wozniak (Columbus, Miss.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lightweight, fully retractable cover assembly is provided. The retractable cover assembly may be installed on an interior portion of a vehicle. The retractable cover assembly utilizes a rail assembly that allows the cover to slide in and out of the vehicle along the horizontal axis. The retractable cover assembly can be used to protect cargo from inclement weather during the loading and unloading process."
