ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,485,111, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to Primus Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Scottsdale, Ariz.).

"Reduced dose metaxalone formulations" was invented by Mukteeshwar Gande (Denville, N.J.) and Robert M. Levy (Cave Creek, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Oral dosage forms of metaxalone having improved bioavailability in the fed and fasted states, including dosage forms that employ a reduced dose based on such improved bioavailability."

The patent was filed on Jan. 10, 2024, under Application No. 18/409,208.
