US Patent Issued to PRIMEX EHF on Feb. 25 for "Chitosan derivatives and methods for preparing the same" (Icelander Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,234,302, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to PRIMEX EHF (Fjallabyggd, Iceland).

"Chitosan derivatives and methods for preparing the same" was invented by Mar Masson (Reykjavik, Iceland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a method of preparing N-alkylated chitosan derivatives by treating chitosan with an acid and subsequently reacting the chitosan with an alkylating agent in the presence of a base. Also provided are novel N-alkylated chitosan derivatives."

The patent was filed on Nov. 22, 2022, under Application No. 18/057,825.
