"Apple tree named 'PremA047'" was invented by Richard Volz (Auckland, New Zealand).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct apple tree named 'PremA047', the fruit of which is notable for its intense red skin color, low susceptibility to russet, and excellent storage characteristics."
