ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. PP36,616, issued on April 22, was assigned to Prevar Ltd. (Hastings, New Zealand).

"Apple tree named 'PremA133'" was invented by Richard Volz (Havelock North, New Zealand).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct apple tree named 'PremA133' notable for its fruit, which has an attractive red skin color, appealing flavor, and large size, and for its double resistance to apple scab (Venturia inaequalis)."

The patent was filed on Aug. 8, 2024, under Application No. 18/798,378.
