ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,398,423, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to President and Fellows of Harvard College (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Single cell nucleic acid detection and analysis" was invented by Xiaoliang Sunney Xie (Lexington, Mass.), Katsuyuki Shiroguchi (Arlington, Mass.), Peter A. Sims (Cambridge, Mass.) and Tony Z. Jia (Cambridge, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and compositions for digital profiling of nucleic acid sequences present in a sample are provided."

The patent was filed on Nov. 28, 2023, under Application No. 18/520,654.
