ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,349,619, issued on July 8, was assigned to Precision Planting LLC (Tremont, Ill.).
"Systems and apparatuses for soil and seed monitoring" was invented by Timothy Kater (Bloomington, Ill.), Matthew Morgan (Peoria, Ill.), Dale M. Koch (Tremont, Ill.) and Jeremy J. Hodel (Morton, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system that is able to vary a depth of a row cleaner by adjusting a downforce applied to the row cleaner to promote planting at a desired seed depth and soil moisture."
The patent was filed on Nov. 17, 2021, under Application No. 17/455,336.
