ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,459,503, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to PreAct Technologies Inc. (Portland, Ore.).

"Close-in collision detection combining high sample rate near-field sensors with advanced real-time parallel processing to accurately determine imminent threats and likelihood of a collision" was invented by Kurt Brendley (Herndon, Va.), Keith Brendley (Herndon, Va.), Jared Bench (Herndon, Va.) and Paul Drysch (Herndon, Va.).
