ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,465,060, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to Praxair Technology Inc. (Danbury, Conn.).

"Apparatus and method for crust freezing" was invented by Theodore H. Gasteyer III (Naperville, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are methodology and apparatus for freezing the exterior crust of products, such as food products, in a manner that does not cause the exterior of the product to adhere to the surface on which it is placed during or after the freezing."

The patent was filed on Dec. 6, 2022, under Application No. 18/062,247.
