ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,445,418, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to PQShield Ltd (Oxford, Great Britain).

"Affine masking for secure encryption schemes" was invented by James Howe (Oxford, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are methods and systems for strengthening encryption schemes to side channel attacks. The strengthening of the encryption schemes can involve affine masking of one or more elements of the encryption schemes."

The patent was filed on Nov. 28, 2022, under Application No. 18/059,027.
