ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,351,884, issued on July 8, was assigned to POSCO (Pohang-si, South Korea).
"High-strength ultra-thick steel plate having superb impact toughness at low-temperatures, and method for manufacturing same" was invented by Tae-Il So (Gwangyang-si, South Korea) and Sang-Deok Kang (Gwangyang-si, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "One aspect of the present invention is to provide a superior steel plate and a method for manufacturing same, the steel plate, as an ultra-thick steel plate, having high strength as well as superb impact toughness low-temperature, and excellent resistance to formation of cracks."
