US Patent Issued to POSCO on Aug. 19 for "Wire rod for cold heading having excellent delayed fracture resistance characteristics, parts, and manufacturing method therefor" (South Korean Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,392,019, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to POSCO Co. LTD (Pohang-si, South Korea).

"Wire rod for cold heading having excellent delayed fracture resistance characteristics, parts, and manufacturing method therefor" was invented by Byung-In Jung (Pohang-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are a wire rod for cold heading having high resistance to delayed facture, a part having high resistance to delayed facture, and methods for manufacturing the wire rod and the part. The wire rod of the present disclosure has a chemical composition including, by wt %, C: 0.3% to 0.5%, Si: 0.01% to 0.3%, Mn: 0.3% to 1.0%, Cr: 0.5% to 1....
