US Patent Issued to POLYMORPH MEDICAL on April 15 for "Three-dimensional anatomical parts" (North Carolina, Arizona Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,277,661, issued on April 15, was assigned to POLYMORPH MEDICAL LLC (Miami).

"Three-dimensional anatomical parts" was invented by Trent Lau (Durham, N.C.) and Rahul Ramesh (Chandler, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Anatomical parts including surgical trainers and prosthesis and methods of creating three-dimensional anatomical parts by gathering three-dimensional image data from multiple sources, indexing characteristics from the data and then averaging the data to create new anatomical parts that have averaged characteristics. The disclosed methods also enable bonding of various materials through printed lattices."
