ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,433,500, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Polar Electro Oy (Kempele, Finland).
"Heart activity monitoring during physical exercise" was invented by Elias Pekonen (Kempele, Finland) and Juhani Kemppainen (Kempele, Finland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method, apparatus, and computer program monitor a user's heart activity during a physical exercise. A heart activity measurement signal representing the user's heart activity is acquired and a phase component of the heart activity measurement signal is monitored. On the basis of the monitoring of the phase component, one or more actions are carried out."
