ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,879, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Pharmaq AS (Overhalla, Norway).
"Fish Totivirus" was invented by Stian Nylund (Strusshamn, Norway), Liv Sandlund (Loddefjord, Norway) and Arnfinn L. Okland (Erdal, Norway).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a novel fish virus, indicated to be a Totivirus, which causes mortality in fish, and to methods of detecting said virus in fish, and related uses."
The patent was filed on Feb. 4, 2020, under Application No. 17/433,416.
